Acquisitions 2024
The acquisition of works of art in 2024 has expanded the European Parliament Contemporary Art Collection by 13 works of art from Denmark, Latvia and Slovenia. These works explore themes of human relationships, the environment and visions of the future, and promote equality and inclusion, while also drawing inspiration from our common history. Today, the collection contains almost 600 works, which are exhibited in the European Parliament buildings in Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg, and across Europe through the European Parliament’s liaison offices. The European Parliament’s Contemporary Art Collection expresses the cultural richness of the EU and thus celebrates equality between women and men. It is constantly evolving with the aim of becoming a more gender-balanced and inspiring repository of knowledge, creativity and imagination for future generations.
