The work titled I DO //NOT// MATTER” explores the feeling of being an outsider, both as an individual and as a collective experience. The text strips represent individuals within the piece, inextricably linked through the woven material. The artwork invites the viewer to engage actively, transforming the negative connotations of the text strips into positive affirmations. With the act of altering the piece, viewers can get the chance to make the small step of actively engaging in change, and to incorporate this feeling into their everyday lives in different matters as well.
