Carlo Pizzichini was born in Monticiano, Siena, in 1962. He was introduced to art by his father, who taught him from a young age. His artistic trajectory was laid out for him, though his father would not live long enough to see it come to fruition. He attended the secondary school of the Siena Institute of Art and graduated with full marks from the Siena State Institute of Art in 1981, before going on to distinguish himself at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (1985) under the tutelage of Professor Roberto Giovannelli. Later in life, he taught pictorial techniques of contemporary arts at the Academies of Fine Arts in Brera, Bologna and Carrara. In 2010 he was made professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari, before returning to the academy in Florence, where he teaches to this day.
Immediately after graduating, Pizzichini brought his talent to the professional sphere through public commissions from major banks, religious institutions, architects and private clients. He would deepen his artistic research and themes through extensive travel abroad, with his work taking him to Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the USA, China, India, Russia, Spain, Germany and the Middle East. Rather than sticking to the trends of his generation, he favours experimentations in a wide array of materials such as ceramics, terracotta, bronze, stone and glass.
