Aurora KIRALY

Aurora Király studied at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, obtaining her PhD in Visual Arts in 2013. As of 2007, she has taught at the university’s Department of Photography and Dynamic Image. Király works at the intersection of photography and installation-art with a variety of media, including fibre art, painting and drawings. One of the best-known Romanian artists of her generation, Aurora Király is involved in numerous projects as both artist and educator, playing a pivotal role in the emerging art scene in Romania. Király is particularly interested in exploring feminist theories in relation to identity-making and the status of women in society.
