Iulia Toma studied at the National University of Arts Bucharest, where she currently works as an Assistant Lecturer in the Textile Art & Design Department at the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design.
Toma is an intermedia artist who works with the means of aesthetic expression through textile, as well as photography, installation, text and performance. Recently she has been focusing on social issues, which she explores in her own individual way: feminism, women’s rights, interpersonal relations of closed communities, the materiality of urban living, social justice, etc.
