Yorgos MOKALIS

(1953)

Yorgos Mokalis was born in Thessaloniki in 1953. He studied architecture at the Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from 1972 to1978, where he learned painting, plastics and stage design under Nikos Sachinis.

He is a member of SK. E.T.B.E (the Association of Artistic Fine Arts of Northern Greece).
He has so far held eight solo exhibitions in Greece and Hungary and participated in a large number of group exhibitions, including: the Exhibition of Art Work of Teachers – Graduates of the Department of Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki, 1997) and SK. E.T.B.E exhibitions.
In 1975, he won the first prize in the Young Scenographers Competition of K.TH.B.E. He was also awarded the badge of the Cultural Center of Alexandroupolis, as well as in mural competitions of the Municipalities of Athens and Thessaloniki
