Anders Sköld was born in Borås in 1968. He adopted oil painting when he was about eight years old and developed his skill and technique long before following any kind of formal training. Dedicated to his craft, he studied under several masters: Lotta Backman (1980), Bengt Lindström in Spain (1988), Arne Isacsson at the Risør Kunstskole in Norway (1993) and Veljan Kirovski. He was also a private student of art professor Georg Suttner (1994-2005) in Sweden, studied at the Gerlesborgsskolan (Gerlesborg School of Fine Art, 1994) and read Science of Visual Art at the University of Gothenburg (2011).
A naturalist in his subject matter, Sköld is a neo-impressionist in his technical approach. Whether in oil or watercolour, the palette is reduced and the brushstrokes elusive when depicting a landscape, a pier or a mountain range.
Recent exhibitions include: Galleri S, Tibro, Sweden (1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 2006); exhibition arranged by the MOCA-project group (Museum of Contemporary Art) at the residence of the Consulate-General of Sweden, Los Angeles (2004); private exhibition for select clients, Paris, France (2006); New York (2010); Hellekis, Sweden (2010); London (2010); Föreningen Vadstena Konstgalleri, Sweden (2010); Svenskt Tenn, Stockholm (2013).
