Nina Ruseva was born in Sofia in 1977. She graduated from the Sofia School of Fine Arts in 1996, before undertaking a Master’s in painting at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, from which she graduated in 2002.
Ruseva’s paintings lie at the crossroads of abstraction and figuration, some leaning more towards one aspect than the other. The artist works with large flat areas of colour that structure the canvas and give it an intense depth.
Her work can be seen in numerous private collections all over Europe and around the world, from Bulgaria to Israel, including England, the United States, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
Ruseva lives and works in Sofia.
